Important Changes To Repeat Prescriptions
May 31, 2014
From Monday 19th May 2014, there will be some changes to our repeat prescription policy.
This will be at the veterinary surgeon’s discretion and will take into account the following;-
A three month supply of medications/written prescription will be available to some of our clients.
• Your pets condition
• The type of medication
• The storage requirements of the medication
• The date of your pets next review
• Your pets present medical status
• Your compliance in administering the medication as prescribed
• The vets professional discretion
You may be able to order UP to three months supply, for example you can order 6 weeks if you prefer etc.
If your pet is due a review within the period of medication you request, you will only be supplied with enough medication until your pet has been re-examined.
The decision of the veterinary surgeon is final and no other member of staff has any authority to change it.
Please order your repeat prescription in the usual way but be sure to specify EXACTLY the length of prescription required or we will automatically provide one month. The nursing and reception staff are not legally qualified to add to or alter any prescription.
Any medications once removed from the premises are non- refundable as we cannot re- sell them. We will however, safely dispose of any returned medications free of charge (excluding sharps).
Prescriptions will usually be ready to collect after 1pm the day after the order was placed. If you order a prescription on a Friday it will be ready the following Monday afternoon. Please remember we are closed on bank holidays so remember to check you have enough.
Only Veterinary Surgeons are legally allowed to authorise prescription medications.
